~ Exodus 4:1-5: Moses has encounter with burning bush. Moses questions God.
“ 1 Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, 'The LORD did not appear
to you'?" 2 Then the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he replied. 3 The LORD
said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.
4 Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and
took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 5 "This," said the LORD, "is so that they
may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God
of Jacob--has appeared to you. "
God used plain ordinary piece of wood, normal tool for daily life, to glorify Himself. To prove Himself.
Each one of us use something in our hands. Use what is in your hands, special gifts hobbies etc. to
glorify him. Ex. Pastor uses motorcycle to start ten churches.
“What is in your hand that can bring you together with other people? What is your passion? What is in
your hands that you can use to glorify Him.”
Another example that Rich spoke of in his personal life is that his son loves Jeeps. He loves to build
them, work on them, customize etc. So he took that love, that passion and desire, and got together to
form a club for Jeep enthusiasts. Through the club he has the opportunity to spread the word, to share
his faith even if just be being around, sharing his story, his Love for the Lord. People notice the peace
God fills us with.
Opening your heart to the Lord, all ministers have been given gifts
~ 1st Peter 4:10-11
“ 10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's
grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If
anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised
through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. ”
Physical gifts?
Abilities?
Spiritual gifts?
All different for everybody. You may know what they are or you may not know what they are but God
has left us all with something to use to glorify Him.
~ Romans 12:4-8
“ 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same
function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in
proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is
encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if
it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully ”
“a lot of people are given the gift of service to serve others” Hospitality, first aid, children’s ministry.
Servants. “ use what gifts you are given to serve others
”
Serving him is not about us not about how good we are. Use the Knowledge he has given you, look, act.
God looks at what’s in our Heart.
If you try on your own you’re going to fail Him.
Your testimony and what’s on your heart; these are things that God has given us to share as servants to
Him. Even If you’re not out there preaching your story to every person you see, your testimony and
what’s on your heart with show itself if it is true to Him.
Even bad things in our lives can produce good in the future. Use your story.
Be ready to share your testimony. We all have a story we need to know it. Write down your story?
Don’t want to dwell to much on the negative parts in one’s life. Can argue scripture, theology, faith all
day long. Can’t argue with you’re story.
“Know it, Prepare it, and Share it.”
What is in your hands? What are your spiritual gifts and abilities? What is your story?
Through God your story will have a great ending, in Heaven serving God.
